Chocolate Fest

Gulf Coast Kids House will host the 15th annual Chocolate Fest, Saturday, April 7th at Cordova Mall.  

General admission and VIP tickets are on sale now.  GA tickets are $15 and a limited amount of VIP tickets are available for $20.  The VIP ticket gets you in one hour early to avoid long lines.  Doors open at noon for VIP and 1pm for general admission.

United Way Tax Help Program

United Way of Escambia County is offering free tax assistance to Gulf Coast residents through April 16. 

The service is open to residents with an income of $66,000 or less.  Services are available at:

  • PSC Pensacola Campus:  Mon (10am – 4pm), Wed/Fri (10am – 8pm), Tues/Thurs (10am – 7pm), Sat (10am-2pm)
  • PSC Warrington Campus: Tues/Wed/Thurs (3 – 7pm)
  • PSC Milton Campus: Tues/Thurs (9am – 4pm). By appointment only, call 484-4450 to schedule.
  • St. Sylvester’s Church in Navarre: Mon (1 – 4pm), Wed/Sat (9am – 3pm)
  • Community Action Program Committee: Tues/Thurs (12 – 7pm), Sat – By appointment only.

Oriole Beach Elementary Trivia Night

Oriole Beach Elementary PTA will host trivia night, Friday, April 6th at 6pm at St Ann’s Church in Gulf Breeze.  In addition to trivia they’ll have a catered dinner, drinks and a silent auction.  Proceeds will be used to purchase technology carts and equipment.

Michelle Hill Raider Run

12th annual Michelle Hill Raider Run is Saturday, April 7th in Navarre.  Race-day registration begins at 6am and the event start at 7:30 at Navarre Youth Sports Association.  Proceeds will provide scholarships to students in our community.

Baker Lions Club | Spring Fling

Baker Lions Club will host their annual Spring Festival, Saturday, April 7th.  They’ll have a pancake breakfast, car show and arts & crafts at Baker Rec Center.

Regional Roundup

The Escambia County Waste Services Department will host the next Regional Roundup on Saturday, April 7 from 8 a.m. until noon in the front parking lot of Bailey Middle School, located at 4110 Bauer Road. Regional Roundup events provide an opportunity to properly dispose of electronics, household hazardous waste and up to four tires per vehicle, free of charge.

Spring Festival of Flowers

The Spring Festival of Flowers is April 7th – 9th at Pensacola State College, Milton Campus.  Admission is free all three days and they will have plants, flowers, herbs, arts & crafts, music and food.

Vision Jam

Vision of Hope, a local, non-profit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities, presents its first-annual VISION JAM, with featured guest artist Michael O’Brien, formerly of Newsong, at 4:30pm. The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 7, from 10am to 6pm, will be held at the Santa Rosa Ranch in Jay, FL, off Highway 178.

Vision Jam will feature various local musicians, and competitions between local Christian bands, as well as other interested specialty bands and solo artists in our area. In addition to musical entertainment, there will be plenty of food and arts & craft vendors, a 50/50 raffle, as well as demonstrations by local dance and martial arts academies.

Admission is $10 for adults and children ages 3 and up, and can be purchased at any local Santa Rosa County Federal Credit Union, through the link on the Santa Rosa Ranch Facebook page, or at the gate. Ticket price includes family-friendly attractions at the Santa Rosa Ranch: hay rides, playground, children’s zip lines, petting zoo and more (deer feed, pony rides and apple canons extra).

Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Spring Fling

Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will have their annual Spring Fling, Saturday, April 14th from 8am – 3pm.  They’ll have arts, crafts, plants, local honey and lots more at the corner of 12th and Moreno in Pensacola.  Proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations.

Pace Center for Girls will host the annual Men Who Cook event, Sunday, April 8th at Sanders Beach Community Center.  Local celebrities, community leaders and businessmen will be cooking appetizers, entrees and desserts and proceeds will provide a better future for young women in our community.

Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge

Firefighters from all across the southeast will be on the white sands of Pensacola Beach for the 3rd annual Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge, April 14.  

Firefighters will be in full gear including boots, gloves, air packs, helmet & mask as they tackle the obstacle course.  The course includes:

Forced Entry
Charged Hose Drag
Kaiser Sled
Dummy Drag
Hose Hoist

Teams and individuals will compete side-by-side in the sand just west of the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach.  There will be a team check-in and team party from 5-9pm, Friday, April 13th and then the Firefighters Challenge will begin at 9am on April 14th.  Spectator admission is free.

Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Charity Ride

Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association will host their annual PTSD Awareness Ride, Saturday, April 14th.  Registration begins at 8am at Harley Davidson of Pensacola and the ride will have four stops and an after party.  Proceeds will benefit Veterans struggling with PTSD.

Walk the Beach to Fight ALS

The inaugural Walk the Beach to Fight ALS is Sunday, April 15th on Pensacola Beach.  Registration begins at 8:30am at Flounder’s and all proceeds will be donated to help find a cure for ALS.

Spring Into Love Adoption Event

Animal rescue groups from all across the Gulf Coast will host the Spring into Love adoption event, Saturday, April 21st at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds.  You can meet lovable animals that need a “forever home” from 10am – 4pm and all proceeds will benefit homeless pets in our area.

Burger Battle By the Bay

Sub-West Rotary Club will host the 3rd annual Burger Battle by the Bay, Saturday, April 28th at Community Maritime Park.  Local chefs and restaurants will be grilling their best burgers from 11am – 2pm and taste tickets are just $10 in advance.  Proceeds will be donated to Take Stock in Children.

Marine Corps League Car Show

Marine Corps League will host their annual car/vehicle show, Saturday, April 28th at Five Flags Speedway.

The show is open to all vehicle makes and models including motorcycles.  Registration is from 8-11am and awards will be handed out at 1pm.  There will also be live music from Muscogee Ridge, door prizes, games, food & drinks and a 50/50 drawing.  Cost is $20 per vehicle and they’ll have trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each category.  All entries will receive a dash plaque.

Grief Share

First Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze is hosting Support Group Meetings for individuals dealing with grief, loss of a loved one, or divorce. The 13 week courses are nationally known as “GriefShare” and “DivorceCare”.  Weekly meetings are open to the community, anyone can attend, church affiliation is not required. Registration is $25, includes workbook and materials, scholarships are available.

DivorceCare meetings are held each Wednesday from 6:15 – 8:00 pm.  GriefShare meetings are held each Monday from 6-8 pm.

Arc Gateway Mardi Gras Beads

If you have unwanted Mardi Gras beads from past parades, DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY!!  Donate your beads to Arc Gateway.  They will sort, package and re-sell them.  By doing this, you will help fund programs at Arc Gateway and provide jobs for adults with developmental disabilities in our community.

Road to Recovery

Road To Recovery Web Ad

American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to drive cancer patients to their treatment through the Road to Recovery program.

There are many cancer patients in our community that are too ill to drive or have no means of transportation to receive their life saving treatment.  Volunteer drivers donate their time to ensure that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need.  Drivers are needed all throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa County.
